What we collect

• Trip alerts and contact forms: your email address, the destination and travel month you enter, and your message. We use them to send the pre-trip email you asked for or to answer you. Stored in our automation system and email service until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are read. It sets cookies and collects usage data in aggregate.
• Advertising: pages may show ads served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show relevant ads. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.
• Affiliate links: when you click a hotel or partner link, the partner sets a cookie that lets them attribute a booking to us. We receive aggregate reports, not your personal details.

Analytics and advertising cookies are used as described above. You can block them in your browser; the site keeps working.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@knownbylocals.com. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
